PTC Volunteer Opportunities

The Labadie Elementary Parent Teacher Committee (PTC) plays a vital role in the overall success of our students. PTC offices are held for two-year terms. The PTC organization offers a variety of opportunities for parents to participate, including the events and committees listed below.

Book Fair - Once during the school year this committee will organize and run a book fair for the staff, students and families of Labadie Elementary.

Box Tops - Throughout the school year, students collect General Mills' cereal box tops to be sent in for money or educational items. This committee periodically gathers the collected box tops and counts and clips them, as well as plans school-wide drives for support of this program.

Fall Festival - Family event that includes a chili cook-off with best-tasting and table decor awards. Hot dogs and lemonade provided. Fun activities include pumpkin painting, face painting and other games.

Family Picnic - This committee will help plan, set up and run this event held at the end of the school year.

Room Parents - These parents provide refreshments, games, candy and trinkets for prizes at parties (usually Halloween and Valentine's Day). If they are able to attend, they also help decorate, set up and supervise during the events as well as clean up. They will be asked to help gather donated items for the Trivia Night Fundraiser baskets to be raffled off.

Teacher and Staff Recognition - This committee will organize different events (lunch, breakfast, etc.) for the teachers and staff during teacher appreciation week. They will also help in recognizing staff on their anniversaries.

Fall Fundraiser - Committee members will solicit donations for the fundraiser and also plan and run the event.
